The government of Alberta is proposing changes to the City charters in order to limit cost increases for new housing and establish a consistent minimum standard for building across the province. The changes will affect provisions related to off-site levies, inclusionary housing, and building code bylaw authority. The proposed changes will be posted online for 60 days before final approval by the cabinet.
